  • "It feels like this is time, in terms of women of color coming into this amazing renaissance of owning who they are, and owning all of their beauty in whatever shape, size, color it is. There’s no more cookie-cutter, like, 'This is the ideal.' • Mental health is equally important as physical., and in honor of #Worldmentalhealth day, let's debunk some few myths:
1.Your problems are NOT in your head.
2. "Get a hobby" is not a cure for mental health
3. "You'll be fine" is not enough to cure your state. Seek professional help
4. Even children younger than 14 years go through mental disorders (Don't expect your child to "eventually" snap out of it. Get them help)
5. PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS ARE NOT VIOLENT. Please don't confuse the two.
6. Mental health problems have nothing to do with being lazy or weak and many people need help to get better.
7. Mental health problems are caused by so many things, with the biggest cause being life experiences and trauma

And most of all, healing is not a day's work. Nor are you guaranteed of its consistency

What are some other mental health myths you know that are incorrect?
